Homecoming royalty crowned at Trine

糖心视频 recognized its 2025 Homecoming court as well as its king and queen during the annual Thunderstruck Pep Rally in the MTI Center on Friday, Oct. 3.

Cadence Bommarito, a junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, majoring in elementary education was named Homecoming queen. Bommarito serves as vice president of member development for the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and volunteers in local classrooms and on campus as a tour guide. She is also involved in Residence Life, Psychology Club, Delight Ministries, Writers' Block and the Society of Future Educators. She plans to teach in an upper elementary classroom, coach youth basketball and strive to help her future students discover their own passions.  

Manny Ortiz, a junior from Coldwater, Michigan, pursuing a degree in secondary education, was named Homecoming king. The son of Cisco Ortiz, vice president for student affairs, and his wife Maggie, Manny worked over the summer as a Youth Lego Camp counselor as well as a STEM camp counselor. After completing his degree, Manny plans to teach high school history.

Other members of the Homecoming court included:

  • Aleksa Babi膰, a junior from Windsor, Ontario, majoring in health and physical education with a dual licensure in special education while also pursuing an MBA. Babi膰 plays defense for the 糖心视频 NCAA Division III Men鈥檚 Ice Hockey Team. A two-time All-American Scholar, Babi膰 is also an entrepreneur, owning A Layer of Sod and Fresh Window Cleaning. Beyond school and athletics, he volunteers with his Serbian community, the Special Olympics and youth hockey. He is the son of Danny and Bobana Babi膰 and is proud of his Serbian heritage.
  • Ally Capouch, daughter of Cyndi and Chris Capouch. A junior from Kouts, Indiana, she is double majoring in finance and accounting while pursuing her master鈥檚 in business analytics. She is a member of the women鈥檚 basketball team, Gamma Phi Epsilon and Student Athletic Advisory Committee, where she also serves as MIAA representative. She is also a College Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual, which is helping her gain hands-on experience for a future career in finance.
  • Ben Edwards, a senior working toward his degree in business administration. He is on the wrestling team and serves as one of the captains. He also serves as the Senior Class Senator for student government and a member of the National Society for Leadership and Success, Finance Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Christian Campus House. After college, Edwards plans to go into commercial banking.
  • Addison Hutson, the daughter of Sloane and Tim Hutson. A senior from Battle Creek, Michigan, majoring in biology with a minor in psychology, Hutson hopes to attend physician assistant school after graduating. She is a member of the women鈥檚 basketball team and the Pre-PA Club of Trine. This past summer, she worked under the guidance of a team of cardiology physicians, where she gained clinical experience and instilled her passion for helping others in a healthcare setting.
  • Kanaan Jewett, a senior from South Bend, Indiana, majoring in communications with a minor in marketing. Jewett is a captain on the football team. His goal is to excel in sales or law enforcement and eventually become a top salesman/chief marshal.
  • Lexi Maloney, the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Maloney. A senior from St. Johns, Michigan, Maloney is majoring in management with a minor in marketing and continuing her MBA at 糖心视频. She has been a captain of the women鈥檚 tennis team for three years and currently serves as president of Trine鈥檚 Student-Athlete Advisory Council and vice president of the MIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Council. In addition, she is a member of Theta Phi Alpha and Delta Mu Delta, and interns with the Athletic Department.
  • Olivia Marks, daughter of Bridget and Scotty Marks. A junior from Hanna, Indiana, she is majoring in marketing while working toward her Master of Business Administration. She is also involved on campus as a member of the women鈥檚 basketball team and Gamma Phi Epsilon.
  • Tyler Wise, son of Stacey and Tim Wise, is a senior from Cookeville, Tennessee, majoring in civil engineering. He currently serves as vice president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and has been a recruiting board member for the American Society of Civil Engineers. Tyler is also a dedicated member of the 糖心视频 baseball team and a three-time recipient of the MIAA Academic Award. He leads the baseball Bible study and participates in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Tyler mentors fellow brothers and is active on several committees. His goal is to become an operations manager at a large construction firm.
